Described as watching someone fall off a tightrope, AUG 4TH: TRITONE TAG features a wide range of musical styles encapsulating tension, drama, surprise, tragedy and more!

Some contributors have approached this project with great musicianship, blending tritones into scales and new melodic modes, while others have pretty much abused tritones, using them to absolute excess with, at times, very little actual music to soften the blow! Different people doing very different things to celebrate one musical interval - rumoured to have been reviled in bygone days, but now lauded to declare August 4th the International Day of Tritones: TRITONE TAG!

A shoutout to my friends at Waverley Local Court where the Tritone Tag logo was born, and to Frode Hovd for all the album art and for taking the logo to a new level for this release.

Very many thanks to Val Allen Wood for his numerous contributions, advice, recruitment of, and work with Dominic Frazier, Marty Manous, Matthew Maldonado and Alex Schnellman, as well as talents in mixing and mastering everything! Thanks also to Tancla, crazygoji and rayjkayj whose contributions are most welcome, and to Shnabubula for connecting me with them (find more of their work on Bandcamp). Kudos to Greg Haybittle (who I hadn’t seen since the mid 1990s!) for embracing with such musicality the insanity I desired for this project!
